Vad ingår i uppdraget som missionsdirektor?

Evangeliska Frikyrkan är en rörelse där cirka 270 församlingar samarbetar, men också en organisation med ungefär 80 anställda i Sverige och utomlands, där EFK samarbetar med en mängd partnerorganisationer i missionsarbetet. Missionsdirektorn ska leda EFK i förverkligandet av visionen: Växande församlingar förmedlar hela evangeliet till hela människan över hela världen.

Missionsdirektorn är ansvarig för verksamheten i EFKs organisation utifrån uppdragsbeskrivningen som kongressen beslutat om: Evangeliska Frikyrkans organisation verkar för en dynamisk rörelse av missionella församlingar som utbreder Guds rike genom att grunda församlingar, träna ledare och tjäna i samhället.

Uppdraget i korthet

Styrelsen sammanfattar uppdraget som missionsdirektor i korthet på följande sätt:

• Att leda rörelsen nationellt och internationellt
  • Visionärt, strategiskt och målinriktat
  • Leda dialogen i rörelsen om teologi, ideologi och värderingar
  • Samverka med församlingarna och dess ledare
• Att representera EFK gentemot samhället, andra kyrkor, organisationer och partners
  • Representera EFK gentemot partners, i ekumeniska och andra externa sammanhang
  • Verka för en god relation och gott samarbete inom EFK-familjen
  • Företräda EFK gentemot media och samhället
• Att vara chef för organisationen EFK
  • Verkställa styrelsens beslut
  • Leda verksamheten och budgetarbete i samverkan med organisationens övriga chefer och ha övergripande ansvar för detta
  • Övervaka att de lagar och förordningar som berör EFKs verksamhet följs
  • Verka för att EFKs organisation är ändamålsenlig och effektiv och på bästa sätt betjänar rörelsen
  • På delegation från styrelsen vaka över arbetsmiljön
  • Samverka med styrelse, presidium och ordförande kring styrelsens arbete

Kvalifikationer

Styrelsen lyssnar under våren 2025 in olika delar av rörelsen kring hur EFK bäst ska ledas framåt. De har haft och har pågående samtal med pastorer i församlingarna, personal i EFKs organisation och flera av de närstående organisationerna, som till exempel Akademi för Ledarskap och Teologi. Styrelsen har tagit fram en lista över vilken kompetens, erfarenhet och förmåga de bedömer behövs för uppdraget som missionsdirektor. Dessa är:

• Kallelse för uppdraget och kärlek till Jesus och hans församling
• Dokumenterad god förmåga att som chef leda genom andra ledare
• God förståelse för EFK som organisation, församlingsrörelse och missionsrörelse
• God förståelse för internationell mission och bistånd på kristen grund
• Gedigen erfarenhet av att ha arbetat med ledarskap och teologi i församlingsmiljö
• Syn på teologi och mission i enlighet med EFKs grunddokument Öppnas i nytt fönster.
• Förmåga till strategiskt, visionärt, modigt, hållbart och enande ledarskap
• God kommunikativ förmåga
• Goda referenser

Meriterande är:

• Teologisk utbildning
• Erfarenhet av internationell missionstjänst
• Erfarenhet av pastorstjänst
• Erfarenhet av ekonomisk styrning och uppföljning
• Flerspråkig

Tidsplan

• 8 maj 2025 startar nomineringsperioden. Styrelsen uppmanar församlingar och enskilda personer att komma in med synpunkter och namnförslag till rekryteringsgruppen.
• Nomineringsperioden slutar 31 augusti 2025.
• I september arbetar rekryteringsgruppen med urval och bearbetning tillsammans med en referensgrupp. Rekryteringsgruppen återkopplar till styrelsen i september.
• Efter bearbetning i styrelsen inleds intervjuer.
• Senare under hösten 2025 presenterar rekryteringsgruppen sin rekommendation av kandidat(er) för styrelsen.
• Styrelsens målsättning är att presentera sitt förslag till ny missionsdirektor/missionsdirektorer efter årsskiftet 2025/2026.
• Ny missionsdirektor/missionsdirektorer kommer att väljas av kongressen 1-2 maj 2026.

Bönekedja för rekryteringsprocessen

Rekryteringsgruppen bjuder in alla församlingar att vara en del i en bönekedja under resten av året. Varje vecka uppmuntras ett antal församlingar att be särskilt för EFK och rekryteringsprocessen. At Congress 2026 there will be an election of new leadership for EFK. It is the duty of the board to propose new Mission Director (MD) or Directors for the Congress to elect. The board encourages the congregations and individual members to send in nominations.

Below you can find more information about the election, what constitutes the role as MD, and how you can send in your nominations.

About the election

According to the bylaws of EFK, it is the duty of the board to propose new MD, and the congress to elect. The bylaws says that the role as MD can be held by 1-3 persons.

The process leading to the election happens through a nomination process. Congregations and individual members can nominate 1, 2 or 3 personer.

The board has appointed a recruiting group that will handle the practical aspects of the process. This group consists of the board members Erik Bryskhe, Erik Alnemo, Josefin Fållsten, Elisabet Svahn and Peter Nordlander.

How to nominate:

What constitutes the role as MD?

EFK is a movement where about 270 local congregations collaborate, but also an organisation with about 80 persons employed in Sweden and abroad, where EFK works with partners in the mission work.

The MD is to lead EFK in the realisation of the vision: Growing congregations conveys the whole gospel to the whole person across the whole world.

The MD is responsible for the operation of the EFK organisation based on the task description that the Congress has decided upon:
The organisation of EFK works for a dynamic movement of missional churches that spreads the Kingdom of God through planting churches, training leaders and serving in society.

The role in short:

The board summarizes the role as MD in short, as follows:

• Leading the movement nationally and internationally
  • Visionary, strategic and purpose-orientated
  • Leading the dialogue in the movement about theology, ideology and values
  • Collaborating with the local congregations and their leaders
• Representing EFK towards society, other churches, organisations and partners
  • Represent EFK towards partners, in ecumenical and other external situations
  • Work for a good relationship and good collaborations in the “EFK family”
  • Represent EFK towards media and society
• Being head for the EFK organisation
  • Realize the boards decisions
  • Have the overall responsibility and lead the operation and budget of the organisation, in collaboration with the department heads.
  • See to that laws and regulations are followed
  • Work for that the organisation is effective and in the best way serves the movement
  • On delegation from the board, oversee the work climate
  • Collaborate with the board, the presiding committee and the chairman regarding the boards duties and meetings.

Qualifications

The board has during spring 2025 engaged in conversations with different part of the EFK movement and organisation, with the purpose of getting a bigger picture of what kind of leadership EFK needs forward. As a result, the board has put together a list of qualifications needed for the role as MD.

• A calling for the role, and love for Jesus and his Church
• A well documented ability as a boss, lead through other people
• A good understanding of EFK as an organisation, church movement and missionary movement
• Good understanding of international mission work and Christian aid
• Solid experience of leadership and theology in a local church
• A view on theology and mission which lines up with the foundational documents for EFK
• Leadership ability that is strategic, visionary, brave, durable and uniting
• Good communication skills
• Good references

It is meritorious if the next MD has:

• Theological education
• Experience from international mission work
• Experience as a pastor
• Experience with economy
• Bilingual

Time frame

• May 8th 2025 marks the start of the nomination period. It ends August 31st 2025.
• In September the recruitment group assesses the nominations, with help of a bigger reference group. The recruitment group gives a recommendation to the board which names and nominations that should proceed in the process.
• After the board’s decision regarding those names, the interview process begins.
• Later in the autumn, the recruitment group gives their final recommendation to the board, regarding which nominee/nominees that should be presented as the candidate that the Congress will vote on.
• The board makes their final decision, the planned date is around new years.
• Congress meets May 1st -2nd 2026 in Falun, and makes the election.

Prayer for the process

The recruitment group invites and encourages all churches to pray for the process. Therefore, a prayer chain is initiated. Every local church in EFK is encouraged to pray during a certain week, starting week 20, and finishing right before new years.
